GOSH, I missed all my posting goals and now February's calendar is going to look off. Still, I wanted to share this here now that I feel a bit more human. Actually, I'm thinking I'll share some trip posts too (later).

I recently went on a road trip and you know what I've found is dangerous? Going shopping. I've always known it, but sometimes it's easier to have self-restraint about certain things (while with others it's impossible). Alien Stage is one of those impossible things. EVERY TIME I SEE ALNST MERCH I GO BROKE. One blogger buddy knows this all too well...LOL.

This is my latest haul! Isn't it so beautiful?!

I was mostly accompanying a friend, but then I went inside Animate and asked for Alien Stage merch (thinking they wouldn't have much), then BAM. I'm in line to pay for things too...

But I also got some ORV books (I only got the first two volumes but they have furigana! So I'm going to find the rest and buy them), some Kara-Iko stuff (they didn't have a lot and what they did have was mostly Kyouji stuff, but I LOVE the matching Kyouji-Satomi charms, the print is a bit basic, but I had to get it), The Summer Hikaru Died (nope, still haven't seen it, I will...!), Wind Breaker (a postcard book, it's Bofurin themed so no Togame illustrations #crying), and even a bit of BL Isekai (a print and poster was inside the Pash magazine! I haven't taken out the poster, but I've added the print to my print collection book).

I'm not a fan of blind grabs, but I decided to test my luck for Alien Stage, especially since the last time I did, I got almost all Ivan grabs. I was like...what are the chances...haha.

I was sad I didn't get any Ivan or Till (or both) merch, but I also wasn't as sad as I thought about getting a Mizi badge, Luka keychain, and Hyuna charm. In fact, I'm carrying the tragic Luka/Hyuna charm on my bag (the other character on there is Hyuna's brother, I think?). As much as I dislike Luka, he's too cute to hate forever, LOL.

I also usually only get Ivan & Till merch (mostly Ivan, ngl), but that Luka pin set? I couldn't stop myself from grabbing it too. (re: he's too pretty!)

I also got an ALNST CD. It was so expensive...but when you're a fan...well, しょうがない (I don't usually like the context this word is used in (me suffering), but it most definitely is my go-to when going on splurges, pfff).

The two Animate stores I visited didn't have the ALNST cafe merch so I guess I'll either wait to see if I can hunt it down elsewhere or order it online...or go to Korea, LOL.

Ok I said that jokingly...but what if I did go to Korea...not just for ALNST merch but also ORV...Dokja is waiting for me...NOOOO STOP ME!

The long-awaited fit post! (🦗🦗🦗) One of my resolutions was to work on my wardrobe, and another was to "become a normal adult... according to my own standards," which means being cool and desirable (among other things). Here are outfits that show my efforts towards that resolution so far ^_^ Right now I'm starting by working on a capsule wardrobe, 1.5 of them because I basically need "female" and "male" wardrobes, and then I'll just buy whatever makes me think "if I don't own this I'll die horribly." Fashionheads of Dreamwidth, please hype me up/tear me down.

The background is the only place in the house with good lighting OTL Sorry if the dog food kills the vibe. I'm surprised the dog herself didn't photobomb me, but maybe she instinctively knew not to get in the way of a good fit.

I don't really know what kind of advice I'm seeking, but if you have anything you want to say to someone just starting to look ~cool~ let me know!! I have kind of read a lot of theory (video games about clothes + a long history of being a Tumblrina + some Pinterest use thrown in), but have done little practice (wore a uniform throughout my public school years, didn't want to buy clothes because I rarely went out, chronically uncool, etc.).

In January my musical focus was popular songs in Spanish, Japanese, and Mandarin (although other Chinese languages may have snuck in), and in February my musical focus was songs in those languages from genres I like specifically. I discovered so many songs that I didn't even know which to DM to my usual music buddy -- and sending all of them would only result in threats on my life. But then I remembered I have a blog. So now I get to put on not just her, but all of you. Welcome to my twisted playlist.

Probably unnecessary to say, but I feel like apologizing anyways: None of these songs are very niche or underground, and maybe some of you have known some of these songs or artists for a looooooong time. I'm aware that I'm not sharing anything particularly wild. I just wanted to cast a wide net and see what artists I should already know but don't, and later I can dig deeper. Especially for the Spanish and Mandarin/Chinese music scene. (I think I have "rare Japanese music" covered, but still I could listen to more popular songs too.)

⮩ Someone posted Momoiro Kataomoi's MV once, and I watched a little bit of it and thought "hmmmm. Cute, but not the best." That was clearly the thought process of a complete fool, because the song is great and I dunno what I was on the first time I heard it. I love the little wind-up into the chorus.
⮩ Ren'ai Revolution 21 is a mix of a Morning Musume song, which I still have not heard.
⮩ Hellokittybalahcurryhellokittyoishii is super catchy in a way that's really obvious, so I'm mad that it worked. Whether I actually like it or not doesn't matter when I can't stop saying Hellokittybalahcurryhellokittyoishii. babyMINT makes some really interesting-sounding songs, so if you have time to waste you should listen to 2023 : BBMeme ODYSSEY or another one of their popular songs.

My hope is that my next post here will be my Official 2026 To-Do List (No Pressure But Still It Would Be Nice To Get That Stuff Done)... Until then, to try to get into the habit of posting art here, I'd like to crosspost my entry for perfworldweek! It's a comic I've had sketched out since December, but I used the ship week as an excuse to finally finish it. I think overall it took me a week-ish to make, which seems fair enough for a six-pages B&W comic with shading and some backgrounds.

I've actually been getting back into making comics FOR REAL since Legends Z-A came out, which is nice. Not all of them have been multiple pages long but I did draw a two-pages one, and I have two other thumbnailed (one is another two-pages one, the other is four-pages) which is more than I can say I've done comics-wise since like. 2022 probably. So, you know! Progress!

Another thing that's on my 2026 agenda already is finally archiving my old French fic on AO3... I've made a pact with a friend who's doing the same thing. I don't know if it's going to help but it's nice to have someone to back you up. We're doing a buddy goal on the app Finch (no idea if anybody else who's subscribed to me here uses it, but it's one of those habit tracking apps... you take care of a little bird... it's not guit-trippy at all which is cool. It's actually helped me build some morning habits, I think???)

Many LLM users are indeed not interested in playing others' work; all they want is people to play theirs, with no compensation or gratitude.

I'm surprised this is my first time seeing it brought up since it seems so obvious now that I've read about it. Even beyond the environmental or economic damage, people who make AI art flood communities they don't even really care about with crap, and then they don't even want to hear anything about it but praise.

Kastel's blog post is well written and thought out as usual; you should add Mimidoshima to your RSS reader if you haven't!
